MaXfield Inc. has an opportunity for an INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER to work with our team.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
  • • Apply knowledge of Codes, manufacturing, and engineering to design safe, profitable products
  • • Design Vessels to ASME Section VIII – Div. 1 – and Designs pressurized cargo toward parts to CSA B620
  • • Designs Piping to ASME B31.3 including piping stress analysis
  • • Perform and/or review extensive calculations to verify structural integrity of products
  • • Performs calculations to verify structural integrity of products
  • • Reviews mechanical sketches, assembly drawings and detail drawings that will be used for manufacturing
  • • Prepare and/or review design reports for federal and provincial regulatory authorities
  • • Review accuracy and completeness all drawings required to drive projects from concept to production
  • • Manage changes that occur during the course of a project from start to finish
  • • Authentication (stamping) of drawings, calculations, and documents as required
  • • Maintain professional and technical knowledge with continuing education and self-learning
  • • Works as part of a team in a fast paced, challenging environment and willing to walk extra mile to get job done right at first place
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with an APEGA P. Eng. registration mandatory
  • • Experience working with SolidWorks & Routing, AutoCAD, CADWorx, Autodesk Simulation, RISA or CEASER II
  • • Strong attention to detail, with a strong Mechanical Aptitude and Structural Calculations
  • • Competent knowledge of ASME Piping Codes and good work ethics and capable to handle multi –projects and work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • • Previous experience designing pressure vessels, piping systems, or cargo transports
  • • Skills in Mechanical Engineering fundamentals: specifications and mechanical drawings
  • • Understanding of mechanical engineering design principles and design codes, particularly ASME VIII-1& 2, ASME B31.3& B 31.1, CSA B620
  • • Superior communication skills and problem solving abilities and a great problem solver not a problem presenter
  • • Previous manufacturing and hands on experience are considered asset and frequent manufacturing shop floor visiting and communicating are mandatory
  • • Ability to get job done right, on time & on budget and capable to meet project delivery deadlines and manage project changes and manufacturing demands
